It is not related to auto-save being disabled and I saw tickers were operating as before after auto-draft save is disabled.
There was also an attempt right after that to improve the regex pattern for detecting embedded tickers which fixed some iss…
If you look at your portfolio during transition period some of the data might not be correct (indication previous day results) and I think this is normal. Sometimes, it is the fund that is late to publishing its results so it does not make to one of…
I would be curious if you pointed that to your local government and Coca Cola corporate that they are selling no-deposit bottles in MI. Perhaps, the bottles are considered collectable...
Reply to @CathyG: Well there are words that translate into action even if the action is forced passivity. For example, "Just say no" handicapped Reps into opposing anything that even themselves proposed in the past because the president was now in s…
Reply to @chip: Chip, here is a Vanilla forum plugin that stops auto-drafts. Drafts will be saved only if user clicks on Save Draft.

I am not that well versed in PCRE regex syntax but I think the problem is coming from \b (word break) is not interpreted as we would like. Maybe the following would work.
/\s+\p{Lu}{3,6}\s+|^\p{Lu}{3,6}\s+|\s+\p{Lu}{3,6}$|^\p{Lu}{3,6}$/u
If \s in…
Reply to @scott: Swiss Frank is too strong probably benefiting from the same flight to safety currents and since the volume of Swiss frank available to purchase is much smaller than US$, it creates a huge upward momentum.
I am not sure if you know…
Reply to @Accipiter: I actually want the autolink code to be fixed. If I am posting a URL that embeds a fund ticker (lets say I want to link to an article where URL includes the ticker) the URL is destroyed. The code should recognize that the ticker…
Reply to @Ted: Ted, just type the tickers and side converts them to appropriate links. If you type explicit links, it interferes with this site feature. VUSTX VWESX
I added small token amounts to ARIVX in my and wife's Roth accounts. Rebalanced 3 out of 4, 401k accounts (sell bond and cash to buy existing stock funds). Overall probably 3-4% shifted from fixed income and cash into equities.
They also get paid by 12b-1 fees that SEC allows fund management companies to attach to the funds.
Update: Can you give a couple of fund tickers your mom is investing in? It is easy to look up and find out what sort of fund they are. @BRBond ment…
Reply to @kevindow: It does work. You are probably doing something wrong.
Also, some URLs (such as print links) may not work if you are coming from a different site as they might lose some other cookie or form data to correctly render the page.
Reply to @Anonymous: I love when people compare one year figures of income with N number of years of future obligations as if all those future obligations are going to be due next year. This debt clock is BS and people using this are doing fuzzy mat…
In 2007, the rating agencies were busy rating sub-prime AAA and enjoying the fees. They could not continue issuing AAA to those trash and downgrade the sovereign rating at the same time. Where were they when Bush administration were excluding the wa…
I am optimistic about the future. In this rapid news cycle and machine trading momentum moves are exaggerated. However, despite the several bad economic data that has been out recently and the political charade that took place for debt ceiling, ther…
Reply to @David_Snowball:
The older profiles require only a couple simple edits to fix the embedded links. Otherwise, they are looking good enough.
Even without edits, if you first simply link the fund profiles to your fund page, they would be ac…
David,
Are you going to make the FA fund profiles available or integrated via Funds page? While reading your comments on ARIVX, I wanted to check what you had written for WSCVX and I could not find the old fund profiles by going through main pages …
I don't know if this is double dip. The trajectory is still pointing to painfully slow growth.
The GDP has revised down for every year since 2004! The recession had GDP down by 5.1% which is the worst since WWII
Reply to @Maurice: If Bush did not cut first, there would be nothing that Obama would favor to renew. So, since the origin of these cuts are from Bush presidency, they are Bush tax cuts. If we allowed the Bush tax cuts to expire and replaced by some…
Reply to @VintageFreak: Vintage, I am not going to argue much so you can have the last work after this.
Obviously, you have your own ideas. You do not see risk as long as there is no permanent loss of capital. You are fine if the recovery from tem…
Risk is not a scalar factor. It is multi-dimensional. There are many risk factors. One should instead consider a risk vector incorporating different types of risk.
Unfortunately, we cannot measure and quantify the risk numerically for all of risk f…
Reply to @Accipiter: No way... as much as I would like to do so, I can't try any of those for at least another 6-12 months and will probably be careful afterwards. BTW, my injury is a result of skiing (or rather falling while skiing) not Taekwondo.…
Moody's shakes downgrade stick at 177 muni issuers, if US lose AAA rating.

Downgrade and deficit cuts will affect the states and more government layoffs is highly likely as a result. I hear some republican governors that was opposed to raising the debt level is now in favor of it. They are only in favor as long as it does …
