junkster,
As I mentioned in the last post I was having positions in AMANX (about 28K).
I sold them today. This bubble talk is freaking me out.
The way I look at it is, to save 10K in a 401k account it takes almost 8-9months. To loose 10K it take…
fundalarm,
I can't call I am living decently. it is because I drive a 1998 old honda accord still. bought it for 5K, 6 years ago.
:)
Not a big spender. we maximize in 401k accounts and adjust with the rest. Never used credit cards. only debit card…
Reply to @David_Snowball:
David,
The Trow price calculator is great. It says I will have 8.5K per month when I 60 years old for me and my wife. that's more than enough for both of us (especially if we pay off our house).

Thanks you so much folks. Great advise.
I hope you folks live a long and healthy life and please continue to give such a great suggestions and advise and education. For Immigrants like me, who has no elders to guide thru in our investments for reti…
Thankyou so much David.
If the house is paid off with no other debt, how much income do we need during retirment for a couple? It is a very generic question.
But, quite a few folks on this forum are already retired/semi-retired. so I thought I wil…
Howdy folks,
bought recently TYL (TALlor) and TSCO (TRACTOR SUPPLY).
bought AMANX (amanx) fund 3 or 4 months ago. Did very well. I am afraid if I have to pull out the money from it (hearing all the news about market being overvalued)

Thanks Ted. Both of the funds doesn't have TSLA.
I was hoping to find a fund that has tesla. I have some play money 3K to play with. I thought I would invest and see.
thanks again
Thanks everyone...you folks are very kind and generous people in sharing information and making sure guys like me don't make mistakes.
I got (as usual) great advise again on my "Deferred Annuity" question. Let me think though this one more time an…
Investor,
Good comments and suggestions....when you are already holding positions in a fund, how do you know that if you wait for another 5 years or 6 years, you would get 7% or 8% returns. No one knows that.
Folks on this forum highly regards OA…
Thanks a lot for all who responded to me. Great advise.
I am not a believer of buy and hold strategy. So buying a balanced fund like OAKBX and sitting on it for 15 years or so, is not something I can do.
I was invested in oakbx (oakmark balance f…
Folks,
I contacted schwab (my 401k account is with them). We are not allowed to invest in zero coupond treasuries through my account (called as PCRA account).
So, I was wondering may be I will invest in mutal funds (bond funds) that invest in zero…
what if I don't have stomach for these market gyrations. And I don't want to invest that 100K for next 18 years myself. In that case does "Deferred Annuity" makes more sense?
Thanks Catch.
Very kind of you to surf all these links for me.
I did my research on 529 plans a year ago and didn't like the performance of those plans. So I invested that money (lump sum) in India. My son is 7 years old now. So probably another 8…
Catch22,
Your reply caught my eye.
Can we have open multiple 529 plans? I live in CA state. I thought I was eligible only to open 529 plan in CA state. I can't go and open 529 plan of other states. Because 529 plans are state plans. For example 5…
Rono, one more question.
I see this fund hold gold coins, gold bullion and silver bullion. Does that mean they literally hold coins and bricks with them? If so, their plan is to sell them in future at higher rate. Is that true?
thanks
Thanks Rono. I owned in the past made some money and got out. And I am thinking of getting into it again. But since it is at all time high, I am kind of hesitant.
