  • TRP Healthscience since 2003. Had DCAd into it till about 2007. It barely dipped below what I paid for the shares and has been a steady performer. I have used big chunks of it to start and/or add to EM BOnd positions. Keeping an eye on it with the s…
  • Bought it today. Will essentially exchange it for my Wishire 4500fund. Planning to exchange some of my wife's VG 2035 Target Rate fund. Nothing against TR funds, it just does not fit our overall AA.
  • Called TRP yesterday and the agent had no idea about the fund.
  • Just my two cents. Trade an S/P 500 fund to vdgix or vig. Trade an EM index fund to Matthews Growth/Income or Dividend or DEM. Trade a EM equity fund to EM Bond or Local Currency Bond. Trade a DODGX to the Balanced version. Greenspring buys small ca…
  • Reply to @TSP_Transfer: :)
  • Reply to @SteveS: Quality dividend stocks, VYM, Matthews etc...Income and appreciation potential. Kudos to Steve S' suggestions.
  • Reply to @TSP_Transfer: :)Do you have more info on GYLD? Looks interesting. Always looking to diversify my F,G,S funds.
  • Why have any bonds at all? Leave the cash as is and orient your equity sleeve to dividend income. TRP Equity Income, VG Equity Income. VIG, VDGIX for growth of income. Or add a hybrid as mentioned above to let someone else worry about interest-rate …
  • Friends, Hope folks find this interesting. I did and I don't know if it has been noted here before. A search of the site didn't produce any hits. Me personally, I am a 47yo pre-retiree and have been increasing my EM bonds, High Dividen Yield equity…
  • Reply to @Ted: I started DCAing into PRHSX in 2003 and it barely dropped below my original investment during the great recession. It came back like gangbusters so much so that I have used it's excess return to start other sleeves of TRP funds. IMHO …
  • Reply to @AndyJ: Forgive my confusion. Total portfolio is 40% in stocks/relatively high volatility bonds/EM debt? Now, slightly over half is in EM debt or EM equity? I really like the idea of monitoring the premiums in CEFs to somewhat avoid bandw…
  • Anyone mind giving out their age? I'm 47yo. I use the EM bonds to boost return vs the drag of low yield US debt. I still have a goodly chunk of that USdebt for stability but hope the EM bonds will generate more return with less volatility than equit…
  • Great stuff, all!! This tiny but knowledgeable sampling seems to follow a trend that I have started to subscribe to. Hanging on to some developed markets but looking to EM eq/bond as a postion to have a somewhat oversized "footprint" as compared t…
  • American Funds CWGFX. It has a load. Don't recall its exposure to financials but it may be significant. Sister fund CAIBX usually has 25% ish in fixed income.
  • Vintage, TRP Health Science does not have a redemption fee...just checked the TRP website. If I am not mistaken, TRP is fairly strict about market timing and you may be frozen out with a certain number of fund "round trips". Regards.
