@BalueBalu - one would have to "assume" its much more than virtue signaling. These companies perceive a long-term issue with doing business there. There's been enough credit and banking disruption that it will likely take them much longer to recover…

MSF link explains it clearly "Historically, the United States has been a net importer of petroleum. During 2020, COVID-19 mitigation efforts caused a drop in oil demand within the United States and internationally. International petroleum prices dec…
Most of the reports like Mark linked are based on 2020 numbers. This was a historic year and the US exported more oil than it imported. However, from what I read - in 2021 this changed and the US is back to importing more oil than it exports. Most …
Jeremy Grantham was on Barron's roundtable today and his take on the market was extra bleak.
He believes we're in a "super bubble" about to burst and something that has only occurred 3x in the last 100 or so years.

First list was from my watch list. Doing a little screening and POLIX appears as a LCG choice. Using risk and return metrics along with ulcer. Interesting how low its MaxDD is vs. others.
Might enter into the Growth/Blend area again but AUEIX is a lower risk with high min., LCGNX is a past holding but riskier than AKREX. How about CSIEX? I suppose I don’t have any favorites for this category. Hope to be enlightened by this good topic…
Circling back to this topic. Considering adding to position in PARWX. Ran some MFO quick search’s. Really impressed with COWZ ratings and performance. Looking closer at PARWX, I was wondering why the MFO rating dropped to 2 for 1 year. Asked the que…

Yogi summaries are valuable. I have a digital subscription to Barron’s but inevitably seem to miss articles of interest. One such example is @LewisBraham post on changes to the 401k. Content on the potential back door Roth elimination is important t…
It's probably not fair... but... I've been watching PRBLX closely and even appreciate the Parnassus sell sheet showing the volatility being less than SPY during market corrections.
YTD:
FXAIX -3.91
PRBLX -4.34
Not fair in that its just a snippet o…
And notable Ahlsten / Parnassus quote: “ Value has done well out of the gate, but growth stocks could come back strongly in the second half as the yield curve flattens. People will rediscover that they want to own innovative companies, not slow-grow…
@MikeW appreciate the advice! I started looking at CDC when you mentioned it last time. Looks solid. Seems like value is trending the first weeks of the new year.
I “feel” like the entire Morgan Stanley portfolio is just tanking this past year. I’m sure there must be some good MS funds, I’m just not in them.
I exited MSEGX. I own 4 others. MACGX has been an absolute disaster the last 12 months. MSSMX has be…
Thanks @MikeW … I’m still way ahead in WAMCX as well. Not so much with MSSMX. I am thinking I may exit WAMCX as well and take profits. I can’t research it in Fido anymore and I haven’t tried to add to it so I’m not sure if it’s possible.
Does that …
Mohamed El-Erian on CNBC this AM. Paraphrasing: He believes the Fed will adjust in "bunches" vs. a spread out rate increase to curb inflation that he thinks will be markedly higher than expected. That is what he has been warning about and the Fed is…
@Bobpa
MGGPX - I reduced LY and added to PRGSX. Will hold remaining. Believe in it LT
MSSMX - 1/2 here and 1/2 with WAMCX - evaluating whether to continue to hold or not
ARTYX - very small position here, holding for 2022 but am in red quite a bit.

@mcmarasco thanks for the comment. There is a thread called Parnassus Endeavor Fund where I posted as well. Both threads are applicable. But as I’m viewing Value as important for my 2022 strategy.. I’m interested in feedback on this fund. Here’s my …
@msf yes thought it was likely a CG issue. I sold post div. Found this Jan 2021 article informative on the topic of Funds/ETF's that soar more than 100% in a given year: https://www.morningstar.com/articles/1017292/what-to-expect-from-funds-after-th…

Wondering why it’s a MFO 3 Rating for 1 yr. I think I may need a re-education on ratings. Can anyone shed some li…
@lynnbolin2021 Thank you for sharing the contents of the “aggressive” Roth and for providing such a detailed analysis of the model portfolios and why you chose the port and Fido option you did. As with all of your posts, there’s tons of info there a…
The more I analyze and perhaps "over analyze" - I think I may need to give my 2 SCG funds WAMCX and MSSMX some more time. Using MFO tools (especially the Analyze button / Performance / Rankings / Ratings and Batting Average etc.) - it appears that W…
Looking for some guidance here. As previously mentioned, I hold MSSMX and WAMCX and they have underperformed in 2021: 5.78 and 5.46. I noted @gk3105gklm comment about how he traded out of them as they are “ex champs”. Wondering what prompted that an…
I’m also looking forward to reading @lynnbolin2021 . In fact I was reading his SA stories from last year including his best funds to own in 2021 to see how they fared. My favorite post of his was definitely … the Best No Load Funds at Fidelity. Some…
Thanks @Observant1 - I seem to always appreciate and admire your choices and feedback on funds. Eye opening graph in that PDF you shared… volatility vs S&P during crisis.
OP started conversation mentioning JENSX and I did not have that on my watch list. I have been watching PRBLX but struggling with moving funds from FXAIX to another “blend”. I’m trying to scale back a little on growth and have funds from sale of MSE…
I see @BenWP ... just read the very nice post from David and the condolences. Now I understand.

@BenWP thanks for the additional info. on Needham. Assuming "The Linkster" is also "Ted"? What's ironic is that as a newbie here - I have been reviewing posts by Ted today on MFO and have really appreciated his many contributions/comments/discussion…
Using MFO screener and other sites, its easy enough to pull up a high flyer SC fund called NEAGX . Consistently beats the SPY even in down cycles, is a Great Owl / HR, Sharpe and APR vs Peer keeps improving every year etc.
With a 35.84% YTD return …
@fred495 good mention of WBALX ... Category average is 4-5% of CASH. WBALX? 14% in cash as of Sep!! Interesting. Also, goes to show how far VLAAX has dropped given its 50-70 and still trailed this fund. I could be wrong but I think VLAAX was once 30…
