@davidrmoran-Other than investing directly with Gabelli, have been unable to access GABCX . I'm invested in GADVX at E-Trade but they changed it from ntf to tf.
I'll post my theory: drop down boxes ensure that USPS-approved abbreviations for each state/province are used. For example, MI entered in a box could refer to Michigan, Mississippi or Missouri. Using a drop-down box ensures that MS is used for Missi…
I use or have used a number of funds/etfs with durations around 1.5 or below to outperform money market funds: TRBUX DLSNX BBBMX NEAR and MINT. FPNIX would also be useful if it was a ntf fund at any brokerage.
If the insurance providers in MS and other Southern states find the exchange policies profitable, they may have to conduct their own outreach programs.
What exactly does "less risky" mean? I suppose the etf's bonds will mostly be rated BB with maybe some assets in cash? I think actively managed oef's are more suitable for investors in this area. FHIFX is one possibility that concentrates in BB cred…
Owned since late 2014. I bought it to supplement MSFBX and SGENX. Standard deviation of 6.63 lower than SGENX s/d of 7.88, so I've been satisfied so far.
Open 24 years with less than 500 million AUM and mediocre performance. Maybe Fidelity is getting ready to merge this fund into another global or international fund.
Actually the House Dems would probably also support a clean debt-limit hike but saying this publicly will make it toxic. Maybe the Tuesday Morning Caucus led by Charlie Dent can bridge this divide.
Per VWELX summary prospectus, the fund is"open to clients who invest through a Vanguard brokerage account," and I opened a position in VWELX at Vanguard in early June.

So these two new funds look like Vanguard's version of a global allocation fund like SGENX, if I'm reading correctly. Will be interesting to compare returns of these two with SGENX,VMVFX and RPGAX.
@shostakovich, would you care to mention some international bond funds you are considering? I own a small position in PFODX, but sold out of the 3 Templeton funds a few years back.
As a Fidelity investor this is a welcome addition to the NTF platform, especially when funds like RPGAX, PRDGX and TRBUX outperform their Fidelity competition.
@Old_Skeet-when you paid the lower sales charge on the bond funds, did the brokerage ever charge you the higher sales charge when you moved into the stock funds? I know I wish I had been willing to pay the 5% sales charge on SGENX in 1993.
The article refers to the potential creation of actively managed etfs that are clones of existing Vanguard funds. A clone of VMVFX, as mentioned in the article, would be a welcome addition.
IIRC the strategy is to never buy a CEF at a premium. I seem to remember there were CEF newsletters recommending buy and sell points for CEF's but I never tracked the newsletters.
IIRC, one of the attractions of interval funds is the ability to take meaningful(sizable) positions in illiquid securities. You have to ensure that you're comfortable with those risks, IMHO.
@msf
I had the 1977 Minnesota Twins in a cards and dice baseball league at high school in 1978. Great hitting but terrible pitching made for exciting games!
