Here's a statement of the obvious: The opinions expressed here are those of the participants, not those of the Mutual Fund Observer. We cannot vouch for the accuracy or appropriateness of any of it, though we do encourage civility and good humor.
I've transferred numerous funds from E-Trade, Ally, and JP Morgan Direct Invest to Fidelity via ACAT and haven't provided a screenshot of an account statement in the last 5 years. Vanguard still requires account statements from the other brokerage…
Looks like CTFAX has outperformed PSMM and AOK ytd, but even FIKFX is down 2.65%. Unsure if even bank loan funds will provide positive returns this year !
+1 Anna I'm also an ex-DOD employee and agree with your sentiment. ISTR that defense spending was spread across the vast majority of the 435 congressional districts !
Derf-no I didn't win the league;one of my best friends did, by making a number of one-sided trades. He had the Texas Rangers-traded Jim Sundberg for Bruce Sutter and somehow got Mike Schmidt from the Phillies owner ! bee-We played the Play Ball game…
Yes it does. We had a dice and cards baseball league senior year in high school, and the 1977 Twins , led by MVP Rod Carew, were my team in that league.
I use the Fidelity fund screener, ntf funds only, and rank funds in ascending order of standard deviation, and run another query in descending order of Sharpe Ratio-trying to optimize both.
IMHO, market thinks that blowout job report means wage pressure will increase, leading to inflation, higher bond yields, dividend stocks suffer, price-earnings ratios compress.XLF having banner day as market thinks bank profits will increase with in…
I live in Florida so I can't share any snow pics. However by the end of the month I'm sure I'll be able to show some sinkhole pics or pics of a condo collapse !
Not yet-I was just using Fido as an example of huge profits for the founders. I'm sure some of the heirs connected to Thomas Rowe Price, JR are multi-billionaires also. I wouldn't have the patience to endure the problems endured by TRP and Vanguard …
hank +1 I think we give these brokerages the benefit of the doubt too often. We should expect a high level of efficiency and competency due to the management fees we pay on these funds. Abigail Johnson is worth 23 billion so I think they can shell o…
Correction is 10% loss;20%loss is bear market;50% loss is a crash. 2020 qualified as a short-lived bear market-perhaps computerized trading will lessen the length of bear markets going forward.
The 90 day holding period at Schwab to avoid transaction fees is a deal-breaker for me. I hold VARAX and ARBOX at Schwab, but mostly keep my account open so I can access my Schwab AMEX card. IMHO, Fidelity is the best choice for a brokerage account.
SFHYX and SVARX are transaction fee funds, to the best of my knowledge. VWINX is ntf at Vanguard and E-Trade. If the transaction fees were $10, and I could schedule purchases at any time, I would gladly invest in these funds !
I've dipped a toe in FFRHX and etf SEIX which was mentioned in the January 2022 commentary. Otherwise, I have the majority in cash, but mostly because I'm the most risk-adverse investor in this forum !
