I'm thinking that he probably is the charity of his choice.
Somehow I doubt that. He is not narcissistic like some running for public office. He is worth $2B. Ego can be his problem, but if it was so bad, he would not even bother saying he will dona…
Gross was expecting a bonus of about $250 million for 2014, with most of that due in the second half of the year, according to the lawsuit. Because he left the firm days before the third quarter ended, Pimco refused to pay him a proportionate amount…
Mr. Snowball,
It is curious you cite study by Columbia School of Journalism. Unless I'm mistaken it is professor of finance at that same University who was exposed by documentary (I forget) as being completely captured by Wall Street.
Guys, sometimes I wonder if everyone's identity is stolen anyways and we just creating news. I mean HTF do we know?
I already am registered with AllClear because me and my family members identity compromised by Anthem. And here is the kicker. I NEV…
frankly it really depends on the fund. Why would I care if manager of my index fund owns share in the fund. I would care if he owned a different index fund against the same index, but that's something else.
If I'm buying a "mid cap value" fund not …
IMHO, PIMCO is not blameless. I would venture a guess if PIMCO would publicly apologize, Bill would forgo any money he feels owed. At his age, his ego should matter more than money.
PIMCO really does not need this while Bill does not have anything …
Didn't FPA investors have enough time to bail on this fund? I didn't know it was a secret.
FPA could have simply closed the fund and given back money to shareholders and started new fund. I take it they took the option of "why worry about starting …
Henry Blodgett may well be the last person whose stock market prognostications I would consider actionable.
You know I've been thinking about this a lot. Not about Blodget in particular, but in general about all those ANALysts who knew what they wer…
I'm not running for president (yet -- I may be the only one), so I don't feel the need to divulge that info.
If you decide to run for President, you still don't have to divulge that info. You can just lie. You don't know I'm not running for Presiden…
Ahem. "CEO only defends shareholder interests not the staff". Not Capitalism. Not Communism. Not Socialism. Not Fascism.
OBJECTIVISM. He is not really defending just shareholder interests. There is no such thing. He is defending his own interests b…
M* had Bill Miller marked as a good steward for LMVTX because he owned $1M of his fund. Then he bought $70M yacht.
I want to see significant investment of persons net worth, relative to fund assets etc. For instance, last time I calculated Bruce Be…
Less than $100 so that we maintain a checking account at our local credit union. Everything else are at brokerages.
I hope your cash at brokerages is FDIC insured (assuming it will do a world of good if s*** happens). If all your assets at broker…
A wise man once told me - at that time I didn't know he was wise - never invest more than half of your money regardless of how much money you have. This is completely contrary to any advice you will receive.
I am taking this advice. My "cash" pos…
I'm sure someone like M* would have it given all the data they collect. However, I don't think they would tout it. I would imagine the strongly marketed funds would tend to have least manager ownership. I think it is best for individual investors to…

This is kinda a rule for me. I always ask everyone to point out to me if they find any fund I own does not have manager investment. A lot of times, I will sell fund regardless of how it has performed if manager loses interest.
Well you have to admit, when the going is tough and someone is bucking the trend, he is either good or lucky or both, and neither of them is bad.
If the fund had sucked up the place and THEN outperformed this year, I would be more suspicious. I'm n…
I own one First Eagle Fund. This pains me no end. It's one thing after another at First Eagle. At this moment, FEBAX might be included in my year end tax planning sells.

crap. will changing passwords help? I don't think so. Passwords should be encrpyted. Personal data wouldn't which is the issue
The real problem is this occured in 2013 and 2014. WTF we hearing about this so early?
That's why I watch independent cinema. Very few celebrities are afraid to bite the hand that feeds them.
Almost funny to hear after we tried to export our version of Democracy to some nations, we are now exporting our diseases not directly, but by…
I marvel at how the airlines have "educated" us to humbly accept the fact that they can sell us a product, take our money in advance, and then without warning at the last minute tell us that we can't have it because they also sold the product to som…
All I would say is if you are looking to rebalance. Sell today but buy tomorrow. Last trading day of quarter implies Mutual fund managers will attempt to fudge quarter end returns by buying more into their largest positions or those stocks they have…
You know I have this SSgA Infrastructure or something fund in my 401K. I have tried to find out what the heck it is, but had no luck. Anyone else has it?
List I would like to see is "10 most corrupt states in America".
Oh wait...WHAT?!?!?! Blasphemy!
We can pay someone to create almost ANY Top 10 list, but corruption is third world phenomenon.
Corruption in Politics and Business threatens to overw…
I remember a time when I had hair. I remember Yacktman had a revolt among his shareholders trying to oust him.
That Yacktman - Sr - is no more the manager. Jr, has big shoes to fill.
More importantly, WTF do we buy a Focused Value fund like Yacktm…
Where's Maury Povich when you need him. Please take the fight there.
