Thanks for the thoughts, I will hold of pulling the trigger until more time has passed. Also a good note about managing all the other funds, I didn't notice that point! Appreciate the input.
@Scott, so what are your favorite ways to play infrastructure? Is it through funds or stocks, ie BIP? I agre on the water front have been considering CFWAX, which is load waived through Fidelity.
BobC, thanks for sharing some candid observation on WAFMX. I have it about 8% of my portfolio, once again probably a little high but I am in it for the long run. I think part of my initial concern was seeing from the wsj article that many similar …
BobC I apprecaite your comments. I guess my biggest concern is around asset bloat, recognizing that the liquidity in Frontier Markets is a limitation. I am youngish (35) and have no problem holding onto this for decades and look at it as a long te…
mcmarasco you are exactly right, I feel the wasatch fund has more Africa and consumables whiles Morgan Stanely has more middle east and financial. A good way to hedge my bets. Thanks for the input.
Interesting article, of note is the size of the fund assets. The funds mentioned are all relatively smaller than WAFMX which is $1Billion plus. I am a holder of WAFMX but could get MFMPX load waived at fidelity. Wondering if I should cut Wasatch…
I own this in my fidelity account, here is what is posted by the ticker for today's ending value: A short-term capital gain of 0.23105 per share and long-term capital gain of 1.4353 per share, declared on 03/27/2014, is pending on this position. P…
Two questions:
-Do they see the mutual fund as their only investment vehicle? (Do they see opening more funds)
-Would they use this fund to invest in non-traditional assets, e.g. venture capital that the average investor(me) would not be otherwise a…
Scott, thanks for the input. While alternatives don't make up the bulk of my investments, probably only 10% it is great to have ideas to bounce around. I think it is too much to hope for some deregulation ala UK in regards to listing and access.
I have noticed that the pink sheets trading in Loebs Hedge fund TPNTF have done really well this year. Any word on the reinsurance vehicle for the other big hedge fun managers.
Ted,
Thanks for the information. Is this a case like with Marketfield (MFLDX) where the shop has a new owner but is free to continue as before? I am curious if anyone who owns Steelpath is holding onto it or selling?
Thanks everyone for the comments. I have a decent sized 401 k at vanguard so may just go ahead and leave it be for the time being. I do have access to admiral shares that are not available at fido. Appreciate all the input and thoughts.
Scott, How do you think TRAMX compares with WAFMX, FFRMX and HLFMX, which are what I can get through Fido? My wifes IRA is through T. Rowe so I can also go that route.
Bob, I appreciate your comments. I liked Templeton Frontier but didn't really want to pay a load or TF at Fido. You bring out good points in regards to inefficiencies and the benefits of having active management. I am not allocated a whole lot to…
Maurice,
The ticker symbol for AQR Managed Futures CL N is AQMNX. With the exception of AQR Risk Parity, which Scott mentioned in other posts on Fundalarm and you can get at low min at ETrade, most AQR funds you can get for lower minimums at Fide…
Scott, Actually the AQR fund is available NTF at fidelity for a min of $5,000. Not a small amount considering that would be your entire contribution for the year but not exactly 1 mil either.
