Nice job David, I really enjoyed reading this month's commentary and it was well-timed.
Couldn't help but smile when I came across To which Morningstar says, “If you’ve got $50 million to spend, we’ve got a fund for you!” I couldn't believe that …
Reply to @Investor: Agree.
Recently invested into FMI a couple months ago and when I received their statement (which was printed on nice paper, almost didnt wanna throw it away), was disappointed FMIOX was not included, as I was/am thinking about …
Seriously, Farrell is a joke. His opening statement is more indicative of confirmation bias rather than optimism bias. He is a disgrace to the field of Behavioral Economics and Psychology
Reply to @ron: Why not OAKWX, managed by Nygren AND Herro; the best of both worlds in the Oakmark tree.
Reply to @mrc70: ARTKX has been closed for several years unless you're just rubbing it in :P
Of course, ARTGX is open and is an excellent veh…
Reply to @Maurice: I've owned NBGNX for a couple years. Great long term track record for a small-cap/growth fund, altho guess it's now classified as "Mid-Cap Growth". Is one of those that performs well on the downside (for a small cap fund), but und…
At a penny each, here is my two cents: (pigeonholed in a M* box of course)

MG: POAGX, AKREX
MB: CHTTX, WEHIX
MV: ARTQX, FAAFX
SG: BCSIX, AUMIX

Reply to @slick: Ya, got into ODVYX before closing in my Wells account but missed it in my Fido rollover :(
Seems like all the good EM funds closed this past year; ABEMX, HEMZX, ODMAX. Not confident in any of the available funds/managers in the spa…
Reply to @Bitzer: lol, true that of the bogleheads. i dont dare to post there, in fact, this is the only message board i have posted on.
Ha, I supplement PCLDX with FSCHX. Debated between the two, but can't remember why I chose it over FSDPX
Reply to @Bitzer: Same here, the new comments on threads gets me too. I like the funds listed in your seven areas (could do w/o target funds unless its the only offering in an employee sponsored account). It's not clear what your allocation to TIPs …
Reply to @BobC: I have notes from over a year ago on the differences between the two, and they are similar. Also wrote down that the U.S. was the 2nd largest holding in Total Return, but is not in top 3 holdings of Global Bond. Assumption was its du…
Reply to @Charles: I'm with ya on Dodge & Cox, always wondered what the big deal about that shop was. There is much better out there when it comes to proven management teams, Oakmark & Vanguard just to name a couple
Reply to @Charles: Read this article last night. I don't know, if it's being read by someone who doesn't spend nearly as much time on this subject as we do, I'm kind of impressed with Kiplinger's list. It's much different when giving financial advic…
Reply to @MJG: +1 for an epic post. There is a fantastic book on self-control written by a professor that is based off a course she teaches at Stanford. If anyone is interested, it's called The Willpower Instinct: How Self-Control Works, Why It Matt…
Glad to see the helpful folks here help ya read :P Happens to the best of us, I'm super ADHD and miss a lot of the obvious.
Usually comes down to risk/reward and the role or goal of the fund in your portfolio. Sometimes I wonder why investors hold…
Reply to @Old_Joe: Ha, I've read your posts, it's nice to see modesty which seems to be a rare commodity in the financial world ;)
Ya, by the time I opened this account at Fido, I missed getting in on Chuck Myers' funds FCPVX & FSCRX and am sti…
@Old_Joe Nope on the first possibility, yes on the second. Put a starter position in VVPSX a month ago. Hasn't performed as well as I'd liked so far, but it is only one month and will give it some time.
Very cool and nice to know there is another …
Good observation. Personally, in a more conservative account with only OEF's I own TGBAX & TGEIX. In a more aggressive portfolio I am currently constructing, I have both GIM & TEI (also small position in FAX), as well as MAINX. FWIW, allocat…
Reply to @MaxBialystock: MAINX is a holding in this account, and own all four of those funds throughout portfolios. Waiting to buy MSCFX but the pullback in bonds didn't even phase it! Saw the other thread where you mentioned TBGVX, which I also own…
Reply to @VintageFreak: Read the thread where you guys are discussing it. http://www.mutualfundobserver.com/discussions-3/#/discussion/comment/26273

Would hold onto WAEMX, and WAIGX is good. Looks like you're much more experienced in Wasatch than I am, so curious why the decision to buy/add these funds if you can add to GPGOX or get GPROX?
Good advice from bee. TGBAX is in a class of it's own …

Question: If the registration for the Emerging Markets fund was filed in March, the same month as Global Reach according to The Funds in Registration page, ideally shouldn't it be available relatively soon? GPROX …
Reply to @bee: No problem. Congrats on your 20% gain in the PM fund. Waiting for some monies to transfer before investing more into commodities, decided on TGLDX NTF @ Fidelity.
Ah, the K-1. Avoid like the plague!
Own both. The funds use derivatives to gain commodity exposure via futures, and put the rest of capital in fixed-income. The difference is PCRDX uses TIPS, whereas PCLDX invests in short-term bonds. Personally prefer PCLDX as TIPS are more correlate…
One sec, let me look at my crystal ball and check :P
Not gonna make any predictions, especially considering the fact that CEF's trade at discounts/premiums. In the meantime, enjoy the ~7% yield.
FWIW, I think so, and my money is where my mouth is..
@Kenster1_GlobalValue: Thanks, the quarterly view has a really nice breakdown. Couldn't have said it better.
@AndyJ: Thanks, that's good to know and does make me feel better :)
You guys rock.
Not necessarily, although I'm not an expert in bonds so maybe others can chime in. Looking at PRSNX the largest holding is floating/bank loan and has large allocation to corporate, which is why I mentioned OSTIX (happens to be named Strategic Income…

Commenting in regards to your reply to Investor's post on July 19, who gave great advice along with MikeM as well as MaxBialystock (didn't read every single post in thread so may have missed a few). I'm familiar with all their recommendations (own q…
