one colleague gets tax audit in few weeks... Any advice??

    Doubt anyone will respond unless we know what the issues are. There is the standard advice to not bring info not applicable to the issue the IRS raised as that might minimize the chances that the IRS will then raise other issues
  • Bottom line, if your colleague doesn't cheat on his taxes, what's the problem? If he does, screw em. That costs all of us money.

    If Trump can get away with not releasing his returns, your friend should be alright.

    Good advice from Rono.

    However, if your colleague is in really deep doo-doo, there is one other approach which may (or may not) work.


  • Bring all documents to support his income and deduction. If they are honest errors, he needs to amend the filing in order to satisfy the IRS. Otherwise it would not go down well.
