Here's a statement of the obvious: The opinions expressed here are those of the participants, not those of the Mutual Fund Observer. We cannot vouch for the accuracy or appropriateness of any of it, though we do encourage civility and good humor.
You might want to do some research in EMQQ as I did and purchased a position last week. If you can get a replay of a recent webcast, it is very helpful and impressive.
If valuation is the primary concern, PEIFX has the lowest average price-book ratio and price-earnings ratio of emerging market funds currently, according to Morningstar. I can't vouch for quality. Low valuation and quality don't always go hand in hand.
The word "value" doesn't appear once in that article.
It would take a major correction for EMQQ to be considered a "value" play. The fund is exclusively Internet and Ecommerce companies, which gives the fund and significant growth bias...
This is an asset class I don't want to slice-and-dice for value vs. growth style. I prefer active management with long term track record with a complete up and down cycle including 2008. Andrew Foster Seafarer funds is one of such but the Growth & Income is closed to new investors. He also co-manages eafarer Overseas Value Fund as mentioned above.

Other emerging market value funds, which are closed, would have been AEMGX and LZOEX.
I do not have a position in SIVLX.
