Long-Short Stock Funds Lose Their Shine

Among liquid-alternative investments for retail investors, long-short equity mutual funds have performed relatively well over the past 12 months.

  • The article says, "The funds' three-year annual average return is just 1.87%, reports one research firm." QLEIX must be an an outlier; the M* table shows an annualized 3-year return of 15.67%.

    Hi all ...

    Over the coming weeks, I have decided to continue to sell down my equity towards a lower allocation range and raise cash as I unwind my seasonal investment positions over going the long/short route.

    Same thought: I own QLENX in my IRA and it's doing just fine.
