Here's a statement of the obvious: The opinions expressed here are those of the participants, not those of the Mutual Fund Observer. We cannot vouch for the accuracy or appropriateness of any of it, though we do encourage civility and good humor.

I thought that this is a non-profit organization?

  • It is, always has been and most likely always will be (never say never). MFO Premium will run through a different portal.

I'll let Dr. Snowball and others provide the rest of the details.
  • Maybe it's like Amazon Prime.
  • Maybe we getting ready for April Fools early?
  • No. Please read details above from Professor Snowball. Having access to the entire Lipper database and organizing them in useful format is a significant advantage to construct portfolio and evaluate mutual funds.

The charge of $100 per year is very reasonable comparing to the subscription cost to Barrons, Wall Street Journal, or other financial newsletters. I have done all the above and were disappointed. When MFO Premium becomes available, I will be an early subscriber.

Hmmm...I always believe in free opinion since it is free of bias. As long as MFO Premium does not deliver "premium content" I'm good. Else MFO will cease to be "in the spirit of Fund Alarm". Sure, charge for the analytical stuff.
