Panama Canal port facilities.

CK Hutchison was forcibly removed from operating all the stuff. It's not the company's fault; but they are under Beijing's thumb, and Xi has BIG thumbs. China wants to throw its tentacles everywhere, and the Panamanian Supreme Court's decision in favor of what Orange Doink and Marco wished to see smells like rotting fish. At present, I've seen something that tells me that the Danish firm, A.P. Moeller Maersk, is running the show at the ports now, at either end of the canal.

So... The Chinese-run maritime shipper, Cosco, has simply stopped using the canal, completely. Under orders, of course.

  • Not that big a deal these days. Wouldn't surprise me if many of their container ships are now too large for that canal anyway. That was the way things were heading when I got out of port operations.
