Vanguard March 2026 Supplemental Distribution Estimates

Comments

  • edited March 11
Vanguard did this last year (2025) too.

As these will include earnings (dividends & CGs) for late 2025 (some) & 2026 (most), they will not be taxable for 2025, but for 2026. If not, Vanguard would be in violation of multiple IRS rules.

I think Vanguard shouldn't use the term supplemental as they are just ad-hoc March 2026 distributions. Vanguard should also have an explicit statement on their taxability.

This is different from some fund distributions made in early-2026 that were taxable for 2025 but paid out in 2026.
