US military commanders have been invoking extremist Christian rhetoric about biblical “end times” to justify involvement in the Iran war to troops, according to complaints made to a watchdog group.
The Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) says it has received more than 200 complaints from service members across all branches of the armed forces, including the marines, air force and space force.
One complainant, identified as a noncommissioned officer (NCO) in a unit that could be deployed “at any moment to join” operations against Iran, told MRFF in a complaint viewed by the Guardian that their commander had “urged us to tell our troops that this was ‘all part of God’s divine plan’ and he specifically referenced numerous citations out of the Book of Revelation referring to Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ”.
“He said that ‘President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth’”, the NCO added.

And why should we be talking about anything biblical or religious, anyway? The gov't and the military doesn't need to be anti-religious. But religion---particularly that sort of nonsensical shit (as reported) has no place in explaining U.S. policy or offering a rationale to the troops for ANY mission.
And we are going after the Iranian theocratic regime--- fighting Israel's war FOR them. I recall Colin Powell being interviewed, years ago. We had finished fighting the first or the 2nd Iraq war. Iraq, a country full of muslims. The conversation on-camera took a turn, and a hypothetical was posed to Secy. Powell: what about a Muslim U.S. President?
"Why not," is what he responded. "Too many Muslim Americans in uniform have been buried, after giving their lives for this country." Patriotism is not about religion. At the church I attend, the pastor removed the flag. And President Obama once explicitly answered a reporter who asked a "gotcha" question: "We're not at war with Islam."
But little tattooed Petie seems to think so. As for the Orange clown whose favorite book of the bible is "two Corinthians:" Two Corinthians could walk up behind him and bite his ass, and he'd not understand. He understands nothing. He seeks to learn nothing. He reads nothing. He is an Orange waste of space. Someone please let me know when we no longer need to worry about him anymore. Thanks.
