"An Israeli defence official said the operation had been planned for months in coordination
with Washington, and that the launch date was decided weeks ago."
"The U.S. and Iran renewed negotiations in February in a bid to resolve the decades-long dispute
through diplomacy and avert the threat of a military confrontation that could destabilise the region."
"Israel, however, insisted that any U.S. deal with Iran must include the dismantling of Tehran's
nuclear infrastructure, not just stopping the enrichment process, and lobbied Washington to include
restrictions on Iran's missile programme in the talks."
https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israel-says-it-launched-pre-emptive-attack-against-iran-2026-02-28/Comments: Donald J. Trump promised to keep the U.S. out of new "forever wars"
and to stop the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine during his 2024 campaign.
Unsurprisingly, POTUS (Pedophile of the United States) has broken these campaign promises.
The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is oppressive and it sows terrorism throughout the region.
But could the situation have been handled differently and was an attack neccessary at this particular moment?
Is this course of action in our—not Israel's—national best interest?
Trump's reckless policies in the Afghan war resulted in failure and were a real embarassment to our country.
Prior results do not inspire confidence—the U.S. may get entangled in another long conflict in the Middle East!

two U.S. officials told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The scope of the air and sea operations was not immediately clear.
The campaign is expected to last for multiple days, said a U.S. official."
"Iran was preparing a crushing retaliation, an Iranian official told Reuters."
"President Donald Trump, who built up a vast U.S. military presence in the region
to force Tehran to make concessions in nuclear talks, said in a recorded message
shared on Truth Social that the U.S. launched a 'massive and ongoing' operation
against the Islamic Republic, vowing to ensure Tehran will not obtain a nuclear weapon."
"On the issue of Iran's ballistic missile programme, which was a significant sticking point in negotiations,
Trump said Iran was developing long-range missiles that threaten the United States and others
and threatened to raze their missile industry."

Iran may have acquired advanced anti-ship missiles from China and Faulkland conflict experience may unfold again. Ironically, there are few buildup of US troops near the region that precludes the possibility of “boots on the ground” for regime changes. Again, no authorization from Congress to launch a war. This is a mess.
1) Self-created conflict for US
2) No authorization from Congress on his latest Friday night special
3) Deflects from pedophile investigations
in the world, and done it without the consent of Congress or our allies, or even a clear explanation
to the American people. Even if our president was a wise and judicious man, surrounded by thoughtful advisers
with impeccable integrity and wisdom, this would be a highly dangerous move."
"Trump is facing the consequences of his decision in his first term to abandon the
Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action negotiated with Iran by Obama and backed by
France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, and China."
"Trump walked away from that treaty because it was Obama’s — and he hates Obama
because Obama negotiated safeguards against Iran enriching uranium to weapons grade.
Obama also got Obamacare through Congress, addressed climate change and nuclear proliferation,
and was rewarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
Obama was a winner. Trump is a loser. Trump cannot stomach this."
"Make no mistake. The costs of this war — mayhem and deaths in the Middle East,
higher oil prices (as Iran closes the Straight of Hormuz), increased risk of terrorism
in Europe and the United States — could be catastrophic."
"Yet Americans don’t support this war. Trump’s MAGA base doesn’t want him to engage in regime change.
Congress hasn’t approved this war. Trump is going to war for himself and his boundless, malicious ego."

Is this a war crime? Very possibly. Will it blow up in his face? Who knows? Was it an unsanctioned assassination of a foreign leader? It seems so.
It was most certainly a one-man unilateral attack.
Comments: Reports indicate that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei was killed.
A commentator mentioned that video footage showed Iranians in several cities celebrating his death.
Will the Iranian Revolutionary Guards take control of the government and rule with an iron fist
or will there be a major revolt / regime change that benefits the majority of the Iranian population?

Edit: If I overlooked a significant attribute please feel free to advise.
President Donald Trump’s military attack on Iran unless the administration wins their approval
for what they warn is a potentially illegal campaign that risks pulling the United States
into a deeper Middle East conflict."
"Both the House and Senate, where the president’s Republican Party has a slim majority,
had already drafted such resolutions long before the strikes Saturday.
Now they are ready to plunge into a rare war powers debate next week that will serve as a referendum
on Trump’s decision to go it alone on military action without formal authorization from Congress."
