  • Vanguard news moved the Bitcoin market. Following yesterday's huge bear-market decline, today's rebound may have printed a double-bottom for Bitcoin.

I'll admit that I'm not quite sure how all that stuff that Vanguard claims works out in real life.

I have similar confusion about my relationship to REI, which goes back even further than the days I would scrounge the couch cushions for capital to invest with.
  • Fidelity is for-profit and private - so, it doesn't have to file or provide reports on its operations.

    TIAA, Vanguard, etc are nonprofits.

But nonprofits can have some for-profit operations. Just look at universities - so the academic side is nonprofit, but bookstores, sports, etc are for-profit.

Also in the current news is nonprofit OpenAI controlling for-profit OpenAI and it's trying to adjust its structure.
