The REAL Economy: 'Empty shelves, higher prices’- Americans tell cost of Trump’s tariffs
Tariff revisit: It seems to me that Trump is now getting rid of the tariffs he first imposed. That's what I get from reading various news. Kind of "create the problem" and then quietly try and fix it by getting rid of them. What nonsense. He probably hopes the SCOTUS gets rid of them for him. He'll say they were great and the SCOTUS is bad but never reinstitute them with other means he has available. Stay tuned. PS: I look forward to the day I can answer yes to your question @crash. He's unfit for office and has done terrible damage to the USA IMHO.
" He's unfit for office and has done terrible damage to the USA "
He cheated, chiseled and corrupted his way through the commercial and real estate world, and even then went bankrupt six times. Those who voted for him expected a financial genius?
Yes, now that food prices have been driven up excessively, via tariffs, and the gaslighting is not working, time to roll them back. Unfurl the "Mission Accomplished" banner.
What has been proven is that, in only 6 months, trump's tariffs have driven the price of food so high that it has become unsustainable. And what does that tell us about everything else: autos, housing, durable good, etc. Those things are not only still subject to tariffs, but to current immigration policy. It is clear where that will take us.
Time to gin up real good rationalizations for the true believers, that something good was accomplished. And hope that prices come down enough by mid-terms to stave off the retribution. It won't, because the damage is done. The MAGA base may feel generous, but I doubt anyone else will.
EPSTEIN. There, I said it again. Orange Flatulence. One more word: Giuffre. Enough for now. He and his criminal tong need to go straight to f*****g JAIL.
Trump refuses to rule out pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell
Donald Trump just took questions from reporters for the first time since Monday, and refused to rule out a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell, his former associate who was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison in 2022, for her role in a scheme to sexually exploit and abuse multiple minor girls with Jeffrey Epstein over the course of a decade.
I can play this game. Let's say I trick MFOers out of $1M dollars. Then, after I skim some profits from it, I can return $800,000 of the money and brag that I made MFOers $800,000 richer. I fail to be amused that so many American citizen's math education is so bad that I become a hero of MFOers everywhere.
Except for gasoline prices which have likely been held stable by the adaption of hybrid and electric vehicles, Trump has little to brag about on the price front. Traveling and arriving late at a Michigan hotel several days ago I called about having pizza delivered. The first place quoted a lowest price of “about $40”. Another filled the order for $27 plus a generous tip. Don’t eat pizza much. But can $50 be far away?
Delivered food? Never. Many years ago, I recall getting into Louisville (Galt House, downtown) way too late in the evening. I had to walk over the Ohio River Bridge in the freezing cold just to get some munchies. Everything was already closed in the city. The 7-11 type place at the other side of the bridge in Indiana was open all night. I just about froze and died. But there was no Door Dash or any sort of animal like that, back then.

My Galt House room, I remember, was appointed like a French whorehouse. Holy Jaypers.
