The REAL Economy: 'Empty shelves, higher prices’- Americans tell cost of Trump’s tariffs

Tariff revisit: It seems to me that Trump is now getting rid of the tariffs he first imposed. That's what I get from reading various news. Kind of "create the problem" and then quietly try and fix it by getting rid of them. What nonsense. He probably hopes the SCOTUS gets rid of them for him. He'll say they were great and the SCOTUS is bad but never reinstitute them with other means he has available. Stay tuned. PS: I look forward to the day I can answer yes to your question @crash. He's unfit for office and has done terrible damage to the USA IMHO.
  • " He's unfit for office and has done terrible damage to the USA "

He cheated, chiseled and corrupted his way through the commercial and real estate world, and even then went bankrupt six times. Those who voted for him expected a financial genius?
  • The latest TACO order has been issued from Hair Trumpy. Guess food 'affordability' isn't a 'Democrat hoax' after all....

Yes, now that food prices have been driven up excessively, via tariffs, and the gaslighting is not working, time to roll them back. Unfurl the "Mission Accomplished" banner.

What has been proven is that, in only 6 months, trump's tariffs have driven the price of food so high that it has become unsustainable. And what does that tell us about everything else: autos, housing, durable good, etc. Those things are not only still subject to tariffs, but to current immigration policy. It is clear where that will take us.

Time to gin up real good rationalizations for the true believers, that something good was accomplished. And hope that prices come down enough by mid-terms to stave off the retribution. It won't, because the damage is done. The MAGA base may feel generous, but I doubt anyone else will.

Trump refuses to rule out pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell

Donald Trump just took questions from reporters for the first time since Monday, and refused to rule out a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell, his former associate who was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison in 2022, for her role in a scheme to sexually exploit and abuse multiple minor girls with Jeffrey Epstein over the course of a decade.
  • I'll be going now. Time to vomit. Again.
