I've been reading "The Have and Have-Yachts", a very interesting book of essays by Evan Osnos. Stories detail the ultra-rich and a culture of excess (and tax evasion) here in the US.
Purchased it on my Audible account a few months back. Haven’t listened to all of it, but agree with your take. I’m constantly amazed that a lot of very low income people don’t get it. They’ll blame middle class union wage earners or career public servants for the nation’s economic woes, but completely ignore the flagrant abuses at the top of the pile.
Then there’s the basic issue of distribution of wealth in this country. Manifested in so many ways. Super yachts , gated communities, private jets …
