Coffee price

Over the last 6-7 months the coffee we purchase has gone from approximately $10 to $15 & change. Is this from tariff or shortage to the morning Joe? Maybe a little of both? I'm sure there are many price changes going on , but the coffee price was a "wake-up" to me.
Enjoy your up coming weekend, Derf

  • Don’t forget where coffee are grown and global warming contributes to smaller areas. This has been observed for some time. Tariffs adds another layer of cost to the consumer.

I switched to tea but still their prices have gone up too.
  • Yeah the current coffee trail ob Brazil of 50% I'm fairly certain isn't helping matters. However since most of the coffee I buy has its origins in Sumatra, Costa Rica, El Salvador or Guatemala I haven't seen the pricing that you describe. Yet.

50% price increases are a bit stiff, but everything is ratcheting up in price. Some gouging involved, perhaps, as certain vendors are "opportunistic".

The recent 2.7% CPI print seems comical when you actually go to the store and purchase groceries. We WISH it was 2.7%.
