Wherever he speaks in public, someone else wrote his speech. Then he wonder off to elsewhere. Glad he was never invited as a distinguished commencement speaker at major universities.
U.S. futures are up slightly tonight. I was taught somewhere that war is good for economies. Physical assets (buildings, roads, factories, ships, weapons and munitions) are completely destroyed / expended and need to be replaced. Routine infrastructure upgrades can’t compete for stimulative effect. Often the replacement is superior in quality (more modern) than that which it replaces further boosting the economy. And governments throw fiscal caution away in the rush to finance the war and then rebuild from it. To an extent Japan’s industrial miracle of the 60s-90s was an outgrowth of the devastation suffered in WW II. And the stimulative effects on the U.S. from WWII can’t be ignored. In the 30s the nation was mired in a depression.
