Not sure there is much anyone CAN do. If his policies backfire and his own supporters are impacted badly enough, then maybe there is a re-thinking. For now, the dog caught the car, we will see what they accomplish, for better or worse.

They have Congress, SCOTUS and WH. If they haven't made significant positive progress for all Americans in a couple years, they will have squandered their chance, and shown they had no real plan or ability to implement. This means, jobs, inflation, markets, GDP and overall quality of life.

They are already trying to figure out how to carve out "exceptions" for farming and hoteliers, as they realize that these industries cannot replace their cheap workforce with Americans. Soon, they may realize that also applies to restaurants, construction, manufacturing, etc. Heck, all this re-shoring may be making more jobs for illegal immigrants, in the long run. Then what? Finally, find a way to accept the obvious/inevitable?

Perhaps it would be better if they contemplate the consequences of their actions before proceeding?
  • No disagreement here. The problem I anticipate is that you cannot easily separate the "wheat from the chaff". Can you expect farm workers to show up for work, when you are scooping their brethren up for incarceration and eventual deportation? When their wives and children are at risk of being arrested going to school or their jobs?

Will these workers go where there is less threat, leaving red states without laborers? Who will be rebuilding Florida after the next round of hurricanes, when they have all been run off and FEMA is nowhere to be found? Will Trump send them paper towels?
  • Florida's plan is to have 14 year olds replace migrant farm workers and factory workers as shortages are impacting the state.

No problem here, 14 year olds will work all night and go to school during the day. This doesn't sound desperate at all!

"Florida has been working for years to crack down on employers that hire undocumented immigrants. But that presented a problem for businesses in the state that are desperate for workers to fill low-wage and often undesirable jobs.

Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and the state legislature have a potential solution: children.

The state’s legislature on Tuesday advanced a bill that would loosen child labor laws, allowing children as young as 14 years old to work overnight shifts. If the new law is passed, teenagers would be able to work overnight jobs on school days. They are currently prevented from working earlier than 6:30 am or later than 11 pm per state law."

"Will Trump send them paper towels?"

Yes, Trump will graciously provide the greatest paper towels¹ in the history of this nation!
    Floridians can rest easy.
