46.9% versus 50.3% that disapprove, as of today.
Amid last week's tariff turmoil, the Quinnipiac University Poll shows 72% of voters think
tariffs will hurt the U.S. economy in the short-term while only 53% think the tariffs will hurt in the long-run and
41% think it will help the economy in the long-run. It showed that voters are very split when it comes to how they view which political party cares more about their needs and problems, with 33% saying the Democratic Party, 33% saying the Republican Party, and 31% saying neither party. Note: among independents, 46% said neither party cares, 27% said the Democratic Party cared and 25% said the Republican party cared more.

his irrationality, incompetence, and disregard for the law were fully displayed.
If this rating represents 47% of the overall population, I concur with Crash: "we are screwed."
I’m not oblivious to the role of Congress in this. Trump’s appeal to the masses in red states (with help from monied interests) allows him to more / less keep the sheep confined
In the end, popular opinion should win out. (Whether the opinion is based on facts or distorted / dishonest representation of such is a different matter.) Nixon left office with just 24% public approval - but that was after a lengthy pre-impeachment hearing that exposed the depravity of his methods and those of his subservients. No leader can expect to retain power with such dismal ratings.
