One thing to keep in mind also when dealing with ETF's is not only expense ratios but volume.
As the writer pointed out, Schwab has the lowest expense ratios, even slightly lower than Vanguard. However, for the 2-4 basis points you'd save using Schwab ETF's, they also have about 5-10% of the trading volume that Vanguard ETF's do. Therefore you could lose that small expense ratio saving in one trade that doesn't have a tight spread.
I'm not saying Schwab's ETF's are bad, I actually think they're quite good, I just want to point out that there's more to it than just simple expense ratios.
