How to convert electronic EE bonds to paper EE bonds at Treasury Direct?

edited April 2022 in Other Investing
I have some EE bonds that are in my Treasury Direct account and want to convert them to paper form. How do I accomplish this backward conversion? (They are currently in my conversion account at TD, having recently been previously converted from paper to electronic form at TD. I have decided that I would rather keep them in paper form with my other important papers in my safe deposit box so that my executor can find them upon my demise.)

  • Not possible.
OK to convert paper Savings Bonds to electronic form, but reverse not possible.
That is why I suggest people not to rush with paper to electronic conversion - its a headache & then irreversible.
  • Thanks, Yogi. Wish I'd asked last year.
