The No. 1 job that pays more than $100,000 — and has minimal stress
I didn't read the article, but from my experience; I don't consider being a pediatric dentist or dealing with the elderly as a low stress dentist environment.
Not sure whether your post was saying you couldn’t believe it, or refuting the OP’s article, but: I believe that article was about dental students.....dental school is probably similar to most doctoral-level school programs where the competition and stress is high throughout the program.
And maybe those attracted to a dentist’s lifestyle (has anyone ever tried to get into a dentist? “We are closed on Monday’s, and open until 11 on Friday’s.” Plus they have hygienists and assistants to do a majority of their cleaning. This could be at least a slight exaggeration ...) aren’t expecting the rigors of the program itself, whereas Med students expect rote memorization and 24 hours of call at-a-time going into it. And dental schools are likely getting more competitive, as the lifestyle of a dentist is generally better than a medical doctor.
