RIP John Bogle

John Bogle, who founded Vanguard and revolutionized retirement savings, dies at 89.

  • I was hoping he would reach a 100% bond allocation (equities = 100 - age). Sad to see him go.

That’s huge. A real investing legend. A likable old cuss with a great bourbon baritone.
  • Who next buffet?!
  • I'm a better investor, and have achieved better returns, largely because of John Bogle. Does anyone else speak his brand of common sense so forcefully and eloquently? Not to my knowledge.
  • A truly great investors who helped To revolutionize the mutual fund industry. We will miss him.
  • As much as he brought passive investing to the masses I think he deserves a ton of credit for putting pressure on the fees we pay to invest. Both have been invaluable to the everyday investor and he will hopefully be taken good care of whatever happens after we leave this place. RIP John Bogle
