Any suggestions for Muni CEFs that have a pretty good yield yet less volatile when compared to some of the more risky picks? I'm not looking for 7-8% yield; 5% is fine by me. Thanks in advance.
Over the next few days, I would avoid the Muni CEFs mentioned in the Doug Kass article or in this week's Barron's since they have already had a "pop" in price. Go to cefconnect and use their screener to find muni CEFs with no leverage, or just look for issues yielding less than 6%.
I had been looking pretty hard at NXP, NXQ and NXR for a while. These 3 sister funds have low leverage, yield about ~5% and have low expenses, ranging from ~.28-.35%. Unfortunately, they've run up in price in the last week and no longer have as large of a discount. I ended up passing but they aren't too unattractive.
