Former Wasatch Managers Start Firm
A group of former Wasatch advisors has launched its own investment advisory, Grandeur Peak Advisors, and hopes to launch two mutual funds by the fall. Robert T. Gardiner and Blake H. Walker will serve as portfolio managers and will lead a team of four other analysts. The pair oversaw Wasatch Global Opportunities (WAGOX), which currently has $295.6 million in assets.

David, any insights? Why did they leave Wasatch? What are their plans at Grandeur?

Hi, yugo.

They'll be the subject of one of the August 1 update stories. The split has been in the works since 2007 but was derailed by the meltdown. They've got two funds in registration, which strongly resemble their former Wasatch charges.
