Any stock trading forums like Mutualfundobserver.com?

Good Morning Good folks,

Just like mutualfundobserver, are there any websites/forums that discuss about equities only?

thanks

  • Dear nath: Here is a list from Google search, however; I can't attest to any particular one.

  • Wrong Question. Right Question : Is there any other site like Mutual Fund Observer? Answer : No.
  • There's some discussion of equities at times here.
  • nath,
To be honest, even if there were such a possibility, I probably wouldn't trust a poster anymore than I trust a known stock picker. You always have to do your own due diligence and everyone's reasons for promoting or slamming any particular stock may be different than yours. I do look at the forums at investor Village and M* for ideas from time to time and occasionally discover a gem but it's rare. Anyway here's the link to the M* Stock forum and you're on your own after that.

  • I sort of agree with VF and Mark. I did a bit of scholarly work, once upon a time, on stock boards (in particular, investors' strategies for dealing with a "can't miss" stock that imploded in scandal). Three things struck me back then: the amount of emotional investment in stocks and one's opinion about them led to a horrendous amount of hostile discourse, the amount of scam posting was huge and the amount of stuff (cookies, beacons, trackers) planted by the sites on my computer was huge.

In general, I'd look for a moderated discussion board and a site that has a reputation to protect. Morningstar likely qualifies. After that, I'd approach with care.

    Inexpertly,

    David

Still does. Look at Yahoo finance. Or the comments section about any Apple post on seekingalpha.
