This is one area I decided to go for managed funds rather than ETFS. My biotech fund bested the BBH by about 10% ytd, and has done so consistently. As I wrote in a previous post a while back, there are certain areas such as biotech, international and technology that I feel are better managed by seasoned fund managers. I traded out my IWY for ISTIX and EEM for ABEMX and ODVYX a while back, and added OAKIX to the mix recently for more developed exposure. I do like and have a number of ETFs in addition to funds and stocks, and the ones I have are likely long term holds.
