Here's a statement of the obvious: The opinions expressed here are those of the participants, not those of the Mutual Fund Observer. We cannot vouch for the accuracy or appropriateness of any of it, though we do encourage civility and good humor.
If you have ever listened Money Life podcast and enjoyed it (perhaps when David was the guest) the show is at risk of going away at the end of the month due to lack of corporate sponsors. It would be a pity since he has good guests including mutual fund managers.

I'd actually invited Chuck to use the September issue as a way of highlighting the need for an ongoing sponsor, but he demurred. As far as I can tell, he didn't want to compromise his editorial integrity by promising too much attention to the sponsor (e.g., he didn't want to have the sponsor on the show necessarily) and was, perhaps, unsure about how best to broach the matter.
Specifically the last show is on 9/27 unless things change on sponsorship ground.

I am behind schedule in shows. I am about to listen to that one next.
Update: Also listen to the interview with portfolio manager Bill Smead on 9/4 show. Some of you are interested in his Smead Value fund: SMVLX
