Fear the taper: What's really behind the REIT decline

The article discuss recent decline of REITs in relation to Fed's tapering. Also noticed that Vanguard REIT index, VNQ, experienced a 17% drop from the peak (May 17th) to bottom (June 21st). Question is will this stabilize for the rest of the year?

    I like certain REITs and continue to look for opportunities to add to individual names.

    Reply to @scott: Wish I have the skill to pick individual REITs. I was approached last year about private equity but decided that was not my cup of tea.
