I used to invest a lot a few years ago till things went pear shaped and had to get out. I am trying to figure out if its worth investing when we will get the bejezzus taxed out of our gains, also trying to find a good all around fund for LNG or oil. Thanks Jim
Hi Jim. The S&P500 and the Russell2000 are up 16 and 17% respectively in the last 3 years (over the time you stopped investing?). So I guess I'd say it's worth investing. And I don't get the tax thing. If you make 10% return on stocks and pay 25% of the profit to taxes, how is that worst than making 1% on a CD and paying 25% on that profit? And there is always the Roth IRA alternative.
