Ag. Sec. Rollins 'chicken lady'...Medicaid recipients should work the farms !!!

You may recall this person, shortly after obtaining her position; suggested with some tv ads and other media, that we civilians buy and raise chickens to help reduce our cost for eggs.
Where do these people come from ??? I haven't checked her background; as I do have really important things to do.
Cluck, cluck, cluck rhymes with ....
The write about this is below,

--- Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins has stated that able-bodied Medicaid recipients should replace immigrant farmworkers who may be deported under the Trump administration's immigration policies. She emphasized that there would be "no amnesty" and that deportations would be strategic while also pushing for automation and increased American participation in the workforce. Rollins cited the large number of Medicaid recipients who are not yet meeting the new work requirements as a potential pool of labor.
However, agricultural experts and economists have raised concerns about the feasibility of this plan. They point out that the majority of farmworkers are immigrants, with a significant portion lacking work authorization. Studies from the Urban Institute and the University of Georgia have shown that state-level immigration crackdowns have led to farm labor shortages and financial losses. Additionally, while automation is advancing, it is not yet capable of replacing the manual labor required for tasks like fruit and vegetable harvesting. Some reports suggest that many Medicaid recipients are already working or are exempt from work requirements.

LOL, it's so stupid it's sad. Yeah, empty out those nursing homes, field work is good for you. You can tell she has no clue, farm work is HARD. I wish there was a leader like Cesar Chaves? around to shut down all farm work for a month. They'd be begging them to come back to work...with a pay raise.
  • I think that eventually they will be begging for a return of these workers, by expanding the visa program. The wages will be much higher for legal migrant workers. They cannot keep simply paying off the farmers with taxpayer dollars. You cannot ask other countries to buy more of our ag, if you do not have the workforce.

No way this was thought out before tossing in the monkey wrench.
  • thought out ?     TACO ???
