Smart Beta Strategies

Rob Arnott, founder of Research Affiliates, previously argued that "smart beta" strategies were too expensive to actually buy. He now contends these strategies are inexpensive by historical standards and that this is a good time to invest in them.

Research Affiliates is the sub-advisor for the PIMCO All Asset and PIMCO All Asset All Authority funds.
These funds have not distinguished themselves but they're actually asset allocation funds.
Smart beta strategies from Research Affiliates are represented by the RAFI™ indices.
Other investment firms (Schwab, Invesco, etc.) license the use of these indices for some of their funds.

    PIMCO All Asset and PIMCO All Asset All Authority funds are just so so funds after tracking for many years.
