Communication from USPS

edited March 28 in Off-Topic
Well, it's something, anyway. I'll have to deal with this only once, every ten years.
Background: this is re: renewal of my Irish passport. I applied online, as required, without a hitch. That was 13 December, '24. The Irish postal scan shows it reached NYC on 15 December, '24.

It never reached me until 2nd January, 2025. Ridiculous. Might as well be Pony Express, across the water. The message is to my Congressman's staff and shared with me, just now.

Aloha Mr. (redacted,)

I hope all is well.

Please find below the agency response that I received from USPS to the inquiry made on your behalf. I hope that this information is helpful to you. If there is any federally related issue we are able to assist with in the future, please let me know.

"Aloha Julia,

Mahalo (English: thank you) for your patience with us regarding Mr. (redacted.)

We deeply apologize for the length of time this item took to be delivered to your constituent in Hawaii.

All Registered Mail is processed by hand and therefore can take longer than expected because these items are not processed through any of our automated systems).

Once the item arrived, the letter carrier should have required a signature prior to delivery.

We will be sure to address this issue with Mr. Moriarty's local post office.

Thank you again for your patience."

I hope you have a nice Aloha Friday!

Mahalo,

Julia
