    Senator M. has the advantage of being relatively well insulated from the Felon's revenge. She lost the GOP primary to an insane Tea Partier in 2010, and then won the general as a write-in on the strength of non-insane Rs and Dem votes. Dems know a D can't win these days in AK, and so have backed her twice since (2016 and 2022). For the time being, it's a relatively safe seat for a "moderate" R.

    Note: AK was a purplish D state until the Alaska pipeline brought the oil patch cons to the state and the military bases expanded.
