Here's a statement of the obvious: The opinions expressed here are those of the participants, not those of the Mutual Fund Observer. We cannot vouch for the accuracy or appropriateness of any of it, though we do encourage civility and good humor.
sarcasm there. Repugnants blocked the report from being published until now. A lame duck gesture. Re: Garland: ya don't indict unless you know you're going to win.
The Republican committee members that voted (via the secret vote) to release the report can ask me for a campaign contribution, though I should not have to bribe them for doing their job. It seems like a lot of Congressholes would put Country over Party (not to confuse with "Me over Country") if we have a secret voting process in the Congress. It is so easy to create an electronic voting system where they would vote from their chair by pressing a button.
So, obviously all of the members of Congress already knew about the contents of the investigation and the Report is why the Senate told MG that they can not even hold a confirmation hearing for him. Many that would have voted to confirm him probably were afraid that in two years Dems could release the report, and they would be exposed for their moral courage in acceding to the wishes of the King. The mud sport that biennial elections are is a beautiful thing, and about the only thing that is keeping Americans from becoming cave dwelling cannibals. But my better guess would be that the Congressholes were afraid that MG's confirmation process could make the simmering discontent of the masses against the ruling class even worse.
As to "You do not indict unless you know you are going to win," there are countless cases the Justice department has lost at every level of the Court system and I have been involved in some. If you do not try a case like this, what is the Justice department for - to go after people like Martha Stewart?
It is obvious, there are clearly two systems of Justice in our country: one for the self governing ruling class and one for the ruled masses (you and I). The ruling class looks out for itself (irrespective of the Party), with any acts of perceived deviation only from a sense of self preservation. I agree the Department of Justice is completely corrupt (in favor or the ruling class) and helps the ruling class in keeping up with the appearances.
I guess if you do not play the system, why are you even in it is the question and how can anyone blame MG for playing it. (Though I feel for the teenage women who may carry mental scars for the rest of their lives for the situations they were caught up in.)
We may have the highest per capita GDP, but we are the butt of the the for everyone in the western world and for Trump, who probably wakes up every day morning thinking to himself, "what a bunch of gullible fools, let me think what new way I can humiliate them today."

Right out of Law and Order.
