Submitting CFPB complaints

I would like to learn about forum members experience submitting CFPB complaints, including whether one needs to create a password protected account with CFPB to lodge a complaint.

Comments

  • Yes you need an account with CFPB to submit complaints.
  • I have tried to file complaints with the SEC, and it required specific description of the situation, amount of money lost, remedy asked for (in monetary compensation or otherwise).

    No experience with the CFPB.
  • I filed an SEC complaint a couple of years ago when I sold a mutual fund at one NAV stated by Schwab and then days later the fund company lowered the price I recieved

The paperwork was not much. I won and got about $500 back
  • Great news!
