Vanguard Announces Portfolio Manager Change to Health Care Fund
Maybe this is for the better. Jean Hynes could not fill Ed Owens shoes, she seldom beat Vanguard Health Care Index and adding insult to injury, highly tax inefficient if held in a taxable account.
The Health Care Fund generated excellent returns during Ed Owens's tenure. I wish I had owned it back then! Last time I checked (perhaps 1.5 yrs. ago), performance during Ms. Hynes's tenure was middling.
A fund that has had amazing risk/reward over the years (minus recent years). Linked here is a MFO/Fund Alarm discussion regarding VGHCX. A fund that is hopefully on the "mend":
