The Supreme Court Just Erased Part of the Constitution
Really good column from David French. Like it that he noted what the court did was "invert" the role of Congress in 14A - i.e., flipped the whole thing upside down.
Thanks for sharing the article, Mark! This Supreme Court ruling is disappointing. Section 3 of the 14th Amendment is, in effect, null and void until Congress enacts corresponding legislation. Other Reconstruction-era amendments are self-executing - they do not rely on any legislation.
