According to the article, Robert Horrocks decided to "step back from his current leadership responsibilities." He will remain as a portfolio manager on Matthews Asia Dividend, Matthews Asian Growth and Income, and Matthews Asia ex-Japan Total Return Equity. Mr. Horrocks became CIO in 2009.
Matthews Asia funds were the go to shop for investing in Asia. We left then when Andrew Foster left to form Seafarer funds which we are happy investors. Never hear the whole story on how Matthews went downhill quickly.
