  • Would have liked to have known his outlook for interest rates if he thinks oil will be elevated.

    Mr. Jain made several large portfolio moves which have worked out well (at least in the short-term).
    His firm/funds were previously on my radar.
    Some of his funds (not familiar with all) had very favorable risk/reward characteristics.
    My main concern is the significant key-person risk associated with Mr. Jain.

  • Mr. Jain uses a momentum strategy investing in the hot sectors/ stocks. When he is spot on oil producers when oil prices are rising, then the switch quickly to the next hot area. Not the kind of manager I want to invest in for the long term especially in volatile environment.
