LONDON—British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Treasury chief Rishi Sunak will be fined by U.K. police for breaking Covid-19 lockdown rules, the British government said, reigniting a long-running scandal that has dogged the British leader. London’s Metropolitan Police is probing allegations that multiple social events were held in government offices during the Covid-19 pandemic at times when ordinary Britons were ordered to avoid or reduce socializing. The police on Tuesday said they had so far issued 50 fines in relation to parties on government property.
