Some of the discussions on the MFO Discussion Board about tax efficiency of some of the funds that I have written about inspired me to write the following article:
Always enjoy and am educated by your discussions, but as a VITA tax preparer, I do have a minor quibble with the tax rate charts you referred to - they don’t make clear that the brackets don’t refer to household income but to taxable household income (i.e., income after deductions and credits). For some, this can make a big difference.
