Say Goodbye To The 4% Rule For Retirement

Comments

  • edited March 2013
Here is what I did with my late parents concerning their distributions from their portfolios. I took a sum equal to 1.25% of the portfolio’s quarter ending balance each quarter. This works out to be a variable sum form quarter to quarter … and, who is to say that you have to spend in all as it is withdrawn. This worked for them because their portfolios pretty much met the distribution amount form yield generation alone as mine now does. In addition, principal grew over time. And, this is what I plan to do myself.

Have a great day … and, Good Investing.
