MFOs!
Have you ever considered following decision moose ?
I used to read his stuff years ago when it was free but, as he explains in the FAQ, he had to start charging a fee in order to obtain copyright protection. Glancing at his historical progress, it hasn’t done well lately.

  • Hi @Rbrt,

I have in the past followed the Decision Moose until he begin to charge a fee to readers for his thoughts and his positioning. Being a former boy scout I learned the best way to find ones way was by use of a compass. So, I set up my own etf compass following system using etf's as proxies for the asset classes that I chose to follow and to invest in. Now, I let my compass tell me what is moving and what is not. A tip. Only follow asset classes that you will invest in.

Catch 22 made post of a popular etf tracking chart provided by barchart. I now reference it along with my compass. It's link is below.

  • Yeah his stuff was interesting --- but I hated how you had to log in to pull down the weekly report ... in 2016 (or 18, whenever it was) he should have been able to send it to subscribers via email. Forcing readers to login was inconvenient and I let the subscription lapse.
  • Hi @Rbrt

The Barchart link referenced by Old_Skeet allows for a very good overview of market etf's that reflect (realtime when U.S. markets are open) the technical aspects. Also that one may click the column headers to sort a list somewhat.
In addition, are the numerous other areas available along the left edge of the page. This data remains FREE at this time.
I/we use this data to help us watch for trends. Our portfolio remains focused U.S.-centric in bonds, healthcare and growth (mostly technology). We are not traders in the day trade sense, but move money as needed among the noted areas to build our own form of a balanced portfolio with the foremost consideration of capital preservation. We do not now (have in past years) have any individual stock positions, as etf's/mutual funds fulfill sector needs.

    Regards,
    Catch

FYI - https://decisionmoose.com/home-page is open for free viewing until January 6th. I see that his formula has made 20% this year, primarily IMO due to switching to cash in February and back out in May (didn’t nail the March 23 low).
